Skiing 2023
Day 1 - Saturday 28th Jan
We have arrived safely and getting sorted with our skis and boots now before tea. Been for a good look around the village. The children are absolutely buzzing and looking forward to tomorrow. Wish us luck!
Day 2 - Sunday 29th Jan
Children have made fantastic progress, even after a day! They were all dressed and ready early, remembering each part of their kit. Staff were very proud of them. The sun is shining and the mountains are magical. Off to the supermarket again; their favourite part of the trip so far! Tonight we are having a chilled movie night. Missing you all!
Day 3 - Monday 30th Jan
Another blue sky day in France. Beautiful conditions to ski, and the children are absolutely loving it now! In just two days they have progressed beyond recognition. Turning around cones and smiling all the way down. Tomorrow they are set to explore the area a little more, but first we have a quiz to enjoy tonight. It should be fun!
Staff have taken lots of great photographs of everybody today, so children will have great memories forever. A couple of photos to give you a flavour, but please do not worry if you can’t see your child; everybody is safe and well. Children are beaming with smiles and saying how they want to stay forever.
Day 4 - Tuesday 31st Jan
The children have gone further and higher than ever before today. They are brimming with confidence and showing more independence each day. It’s a real adventure!
Tonight we have enjoyed chicken pie, followed by chocolate eclair. The children are now warming up their vocal cords for karaoke. Keep an ear out for us!
Day 5 - Wednesday 1st Feb
Another fantastic day on the mountains! Children are getting on and off lifts with ease; meaning they are seeing more and more of the valley. A beautiful chairlift ride took us over a frozen stream today. Following a day of skiing, the children and staff went on Speed Mountain, a rollercoaster set in the hills!
Tonight is the disco, and we can’t wait to see everybody’s moves!
Day 6 - Thursday 2nd Feb
We have all had a great day! So much fun!
All of the children are adventuring up to the tops of the mountains. They are loving the views, and the experience. Tomorrow is going to be brilliant because the children are so keen to show how good they’ve become and earn their ski badges.
Tonight we have had a crepe and watched a drone show on the mountain side. It was both magical and spectacular. The children are making life long friendships
and memories; a time they will never forget.
Day 7 - Friday 3rd Feb
What a fantastic week we have all had! The children have been brilliant; we are all so proud of them.
The sixth day of skiing ended with a presentation where the children received a badge. They are wearing them proudly now!
The biggest challenge of the week is underway. The packing! See you tomorrow…
Day 8 - Saturday 4th Feb
We are leaving the hotel at 4:45am. If we are delayed, the only way to check will be via the Newcastle Airport website.
